Battling is done by dice rolling. The dice roller tool is located in the UBBC editing buttons when you go to post, and it looks like this: The number that is rolled on the die will determine whether an attack hit or missed.
If the die rolls a number between 5 and 10, it is a hit. If the die rolls a number between 1 and 4, it is a miss.
When a pokemon's defense/attack/accuracy is lowered, the dice rolls become skewed in favor of the opponent. The stats for the stat-lowered party will read like this:
lowered defense Between 4and 10 = a hit Between 1 and 3 = a miss
lowered accuracy/speed Between 6and 10 = a hit Between 1 and 5 = a miss
If the attack is lowered, a Pokémon will need 1.5 times the hits. So, if a Pokémon needed six hits to win, it will now need nine.
STATUS CHANGING ATTACKS DO NOT COUNT AS A HIT.
If a pokemon's attack is raised, the numbers are skewed the same, in favor of that Pokémon.
If a Pokémon becomes confused [if it's hit with supersonic or something], the dice rolls go:
Between 6 and 10 = a hit 5 = a miss Between 1 and four = the Pokémon hurts itself.
If a Pokémon falls asleep, you have to roll the dice to wake them up. Between 8 and 10 = the Pokémon wakes up Between 1 and 7 = the Pokémon remains sleeping.
For status ailments that take damage away, [poison/burn], each hit will count 1/2 more than normal. So, if there is no hit, than it takes away 1/2 damage ANYWAY.
Paralysis: Between 6 and 10 = a hit Between 1 and 5 = too paralyzed to attack
To Win A Battle To win a battle, you need the number of hits as the opponent's level. For instance, if you are fighting a level six pokemon, you need six hits to win.
Factoring in Type Advantages The Pokémon with an advantage only needs to get .8 times the hits of a Pokémon that would have been equivalent. For instance, if a Squirtle is fighting a level ten Charmander, it only needs Eight hits. Round up to the nearest hit.

The Way Levels/HP works
To level up, you have to fight other Pokémon. The number of battles you win will determine when you reach the next level. The number of battles you must win is directly proportional to your levels. FOR INSTANCE, if you are a level 6 pokemon, you will need to win six battles in order to advance to level 7. Or, likewise, if you are on level 30, you need to win 30 battles to advance to level 31.
